Cat Boarding at Gordon Vet
Here at Gordon Vets, we offer a premium cat boarding service. Clients can find peace of mind leaving their feline family members in the care of our friendly team, who will ensure your cat has a “home away from home” and a familiar place where they feel safe and are well looked after.
Whether your cat needs an overnight booking or a longer term stay, our team has you covered. We offer a range of options for our clients, from short term boarding, medical boarding (e.g patients needing regular medication, geriatric patients or patients with chronic health conditions) and long term stays based on your needs.
Please give our friendly team a call on 02 9498 3000 to discuss availability and the details for your pets needs.
We offer two types of cat boarding:
Our standard boarding cages:
Spacious, single level cages, best designed for shorter stays or perhaps for our feline friends who prefer to stay quiet and hidden. These spaces have plenty of room for cats to sit and move around comfortably, and have access to their food, water and litter tray.
We offer small boxes in our standard cages for our shy cats to find some solitude in if they prefer to keep to themselves.
Our premium boarding cages:
We boast 15 modern, brand new cat boarding houses that are spacious and intentionally designed to keep your cat comfortable and happy. These spaces are for the capacity of 1 cat each. They are multi-tiered, meaning your cat can snooze or hang out in a space that is separate from their food and litter tray. Have multiple cats needing boarding? Our boarding cages have the ability to open a “secret door” that allows cats from the same home to visit one another, while still having their own space as needed.
The premium level houses are the perfect option for longer stays, young cats requiring more space to play or for multi-cat households who like to share their space at times.
Our cat boarding facilities are purposely placed at the far wing of our hospital, meaning they are completely separate from the noise and smells of daily hospital patients and procedures. Our standard boarding cages are also within a “cat only” zone to ensure all patients and boarders are stress free.

The perks of boarding with Gordon Vets:
- Mindfully placed boarding facilities allowing your cat the peace, calmness and “feeling of home” while staying with us
- We’re an ISFM (International Society of Feline Medicine) silver accredited ‘Cat Friendly Clinic‘. This program recognises that our facilities and services cater to the unique nature and needs of cats. We’re committed to making your cat’s visit as stress-free as possible.
- Daily records kept by our nursing team to ensure we are tracking healthy habits like eating, drinking, weekly weigh ins and medications given if relevant
- Veterinary attention if necessary, we are happy to organise consultations, routine blood testing or even procedures like dental cleaning and grooming while your pet stays with us
- All spaces prepared with Feliway pheromone spray prior to arrival to help cats settle in smoothly
- Cages and litter trays are cleaned twice daily (once on Sundays & public holidays) to ensure their space never feels “dirty” or distressing
- Our vets can make decisions with your consent on whether any calming medication needs to be administered if your cat begins to stress
- High quality, veterinary grade wet and dry food is included in their stay. (Non-prescription diet patients only)

Cat boarding requirements:
- All cats must have an up to date F3 vaccination that is valid for the entirety of their stay. If your cat is currently due or overdue for their vaccinations, we can organise an appointment with a Vet at the time of dropping off for boarding
- Must have a current flea and tick preventive (E.g Bravecto, Nexgard Spectra, Revolution Plus) applied for boarding stay. If you don’t routinely use these products, a single dose can be applied at the time of drop off for a fee
- Any cats that require medication must be discussed and approved with our team upon booking. Our nurses are able to medicate any boarding patients requiring medication, so long as we are aware at the time of booking. Please note there are additional fees for daily medications to be administered
- If you are new to Gordon Vet or have a different Vet Hospital that you would normally attend for other purposes, Gordon Vet will need to obtain patient medical records for your pet if they require ongoing medications and/or treatment
- If your pet requires a specific diet like prescription food, this will need to be supplied by you. Please bring enough for their stay, or our team can order specific foods in at a cost for you at your request
