Hey gang! How are you all? It’s been a busy week in staff news at GVH. Nurse Ange is back after her maternity leave. She is working two days a week and we couldn’t be more excited to have her back. As you probably saw yesterday, it was Dr Scott’s birthday. Now normally birthdays at GVH are my favourite day because there’s cake. But Dr Scott wasn’t at work yesterday so no cake. But it was ok, because today is Nurse Hollie’s birthday! Except she is having the day off to climb the Harbour Bridge.
So no cake. AND Friday is Dr Gen’s birthday and she isn’t working. Again, NO CAKE!! But good news! Nurse Layne felt bad for me that I would miss out on all that cake, so we celebrated Nurse Hollie’s early yesterday and we’ll be celebrating Dr Gen’s birthday early today. And although it’s not good news, Dr Catherine has her last day with us on Friday, and while it will be sad to see her go, it means more cake! Talk about a roller coaster of cake emotions!!
As you know, August is Dental Month. We are offering free dental checks, free samples of Greenies and Hills T/D and some great discounts on Hills T/D. I thought I’d take up the free dental check offer and also make myself my own star this week! Dr Helen did a thorough check of my mouth, she opened it up wide, checked my teeth and gums and the good news is my teeth are perfect! If I keep looking after my teeth like I am, I shouldn’t need a scale and polish for a while.
But not all animals are as lucky as me. It is estimated that around 85% of animals over the age of three have some degree of dental disease. This could mean they need a simple scale and polish or a dental with multiple extractions. If you would like to take advantage of our free dental checks, please give the Reception Nurses a call to arrange an appointment.
Well, better go. I’ll catch you all later. Meows for now, love Joey xoxo
