Dr Scott Lackenby
BVSc, MANZCVS (Small Animal Medicine), AQIS-accred
Veterinarian, Hospital Director
Scott joined Gordon Vet Hospital in 1999 and was immediately impressed with the high level of veterinary care and customer service. He became a partner and gained membership in the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Small Animal Medicine in 2002. His particular medical interests include dermatology, endocrinology and geriatric care.
Scott is very popular amongst clients for his kind hearted approach to pet care and his great sense of humour. He also enjoys engaging with the team of vets and nurses, and nurturing their development in our wonderful and evolving industry.
Scott has 4 beautiful girls, Phoebe, Charlie, Zara and Alex, whom all love their Labrador Ted.
He enjoys keeping fit, surfing, and getting outdoors with the family.
Dr John Morgan

Veterinarian, Hospital Director
John is a Pymble local who developed an interest in veterinary medicine from a young age. John first worked at Gordon Vet Hospital from 2004 as a weekend nurse whilst studying veterinary science.
In 2013, John started working at Gordon Vet as an associate veterinarian and became a partner in 2016. Outside of work, John enjoys keeping fit by running and playing tennis. He also stays busy trying to keep his Irish Terrier, Harold, out of trouble.
In 2013 John completed his postgraduate studies in Small Animal Practice and in 2015 gained Membership to the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Small Animal Surgery. He furthered his surgery knowledge with a post graduate course in small animal surgery in 2018 and has completed numerous courses for advanced training in orthopaedic surgeries including luxating patella repairs, and extracapsular repairs and TPLOs for cruciate ligament injuries.
Dr Helen Burns
BVSc (Hons)
Veterinarian
Helen graduated from Sydney Uni in 1997 with First Class Honours and worked in a practice on the Northern Beaches for 16 years. Helen joined the Gordon Vet team early in 2014 and our clients have really enjoyed getting to know her. She loves being a vet and takes a keen interest in all of her patients. Her gentle, friendly nature helps pets to feel relaxed when they visit the vet.
Helen lives locally and has 3 children. At least one of her children seems destined to be a vet! When not ferrying her children around, Helen cares for her menagerie of pets. These include Chloe the dog, Obi and Leia the cats, Little Cocky the galah and Rosie the very tame eclectus parrot who all happily coexist at her house.
In her spare time, Helen likes to be active outdoors, running, kayaking, camping or playing any manner of sport with her children.
Dr Catherine Chen

Veterinarian
Catherine joined the team after quite a bit of time locuming with Gordon Vets. She spent her childhood growing up in Sydney and now lives locally with her husband and two young children, Oscar and Chelsea.
Catherine graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science from Sydney University in 2001. Her parents always predicted she would become a vet as a child, because she spent most of her time saving insects from their swimming pool.
After graduating, Catherine worked for a year at a practice in West Pennant Hills and then headed overseas to the UK. She worked for five years in general and emergency practices in London and South-East England, before returning home to vet practices in the Inner West and Northern Beaches.
Catherine has a keen interest in all aspects of veterinary medicine, but especially enjoys internal medicine, dermatology, dentistry and ultrasound.
Catherine is the only bilingual member of the vet team, speaking English and Mandarin!
In her spare time, Catherine enjoys adventure travelling, including skiing, diving, caving trekking and white water rafting. She has even spent time with the Mountain Gorillas in Rwanda.
Dr Imogene Ewen

Veterinarian
Imogene joined Gordon Vet in January 2018. She graduated from the University of Sydney with first class honours and spent her first few years working in a vet practice in Sydney’s inner west.
Imogene is passionate about all aspects of veterinary medicine and has a special interest in soft tissue surgery. She is also highly trained in feline medicine and in 2021 undertook further training to develop her ultrasound skills. She knew she wanted to be a Vet from a young age, growing up on Sydney’s lower north shore with a menagerie of animals including: dogs, cats, chickens, rabbits, fish, axolotls, wild native birds, green tree frogs, and two Murray River turtles. Imogene now lives with her gorgeous cat Abbie.
In her spare time, Imogene enjoys keeping active by running around the Sydney foreshore and playing soccer. She also loves travelling, the cinema and dining out.
Dr Tahlia Mitchell
BSc DVM
Veterinarian
Tahlia graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2016 and spent the first four years of her career working in a busy practice near the Barossa Valley. She joined the Gordon Veterinary Hospital team in April 2021 after making the move to Sydney earlier in the year with her fiancé.
Tahlia enjoys the variety that comes with working as a GP vet and has a particular interest in internal medicine. While she loves seeing all breeds of dogs and cats, she has a particular fondness for sighthounds, particularly ex-racing greyhounds.
In her spare time, Tahlia enjoys spending time with her own greyhound and she is looking forward to exploring the best that NSW has to offer. She also enjoys woodworking and dining out.
Dr Kaoruko (Kay) Hisano

Veterinarian
Growing up, Kay spent time living in Korea, China and Indonesia before moving back to her native country Japan for her secondary school studies. In 2016, she moved to Australia from Tokyo to study veterinary medicine at the University of Sydney. She completed her Bachelor of Veterinary Biology in 2018 and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2021.
Kay particularly enjoys surgery and is eager to continue developing her natural talent in this area but enjoys all aspects of veterinary practice.
In her spare time, Kay enjoys rock climbing with her housemates, horse riding and travelling. She has two cats at home – Marlo and Alby.
Dr Jenna Baker
BVSc (Hons)
Veterinarian
Jenna joined our team in 2023. Jenna graduated from the University of Sydney in 2017 and in her time has gained a great deal of experience working in a practice on the North-Shore and North-West before joining us.
Jenna has a keen interest in all areas of veterinary medicine but mainly surgery, internal medicine and behaviour. Her volunteer work led her to Thailand where she assisted with medical procedures and research at an elephant refuge and a dog rescue organisation. Jenna’s passion for animal welfare and providing a high level of patient care is a valuable asset to our team.
Jenna’s home is run by her lovely Greyhound called Percy but she makes sure there is plenty of space for her husband and son, Charlie.
Angela Fawdry
Practice Manager
Angela is our most experienced veterinary surgical nurse and joined Gordon Vet full time in 2002. Since then she has gained a Certificate 4 in Vet Nursing and in 2008 became an Advanced Veterinary Nursing Technician which is the highest nursing qualification in Australia. She is now Deputy Head Veterinary Nurse and Senior Surgical Nurse at Gordon Vet.
Day to day, our clients may not see Angela often as she is in the treatment area; however Angela runs the surgery side of our hospital like clockwork! She knows all the animals well and has a lovely gentle nature that they really respond to. Angela is also a very good mentor for the team and guides and trains other nurses beautifully.
Dani Acheson
Head Surgical Nurse
Dani started at Gordon Vets in 2014 while studying her Certificate 4 in Vet Nursing and now that she is fully qualified she is valuable member of our nursing team. Dani has a particular interest in surgical nursing which has influenced her to study a diploma of surgical and emergency nursing. She is incredibly thorough and caring towards all of our patients.
Dani loves birds, exotic animals and wildlife and in her spare time Dani enjoys going to the gym, travelling and exploring new places. She is also a competitive gamer.
Maddie Morey
Reception
Maddie grew up surrounded by animals, having many pets such as chickens, horses, rabbits, dogs and cats and knew she always wanted to work with animals. Maddie is a proud dog Mum to a very energetic Husky named Bella.
In her spare time, Maddie likes playing netball and walking with her dog.
Sallie Edwards
Veterinary Nurse
Sallie started at Gordon Vet in 2019 after a long career in veterinary and human nursing. Sallie uses her experience in both industries to provide top level care and education for her coworkers. She really enjoys a challenge at work and is working towards making Gordon Vet Hospital as close to waste free as possible!
When she’s not at work, Sallie takes care of her two beautiful children – Hayden and Mia and all her lovely pets – Chloe the dog and Lucy and Molly her cats. Sallie loves spending time on the beach where lives, knitting and environmental causes.
Alicia Huskic
Veterinary Nurse
In early 2019 Alicia completed a Certificate II in Animal Studies with the RSPCA at the Somersby shelter and Tuggerah Care centre. The experience of such a busy animal shelter gave her an insight into the importance of the animal care industry which is why Alicia is very passionate about her current studies in Veterinary nursing. She currently has a pet cockatiel – Lemon. When not with animals Alicia likes to do outdoor activities such as exploring different beaches, skiing / snowboarding and travelling.
Magdalena Jaworska
Veterinary Nurse
Maggie moved to Sydney from Poland in 2017. She started volunteering in RSPCA Animal Shelter in Yagoona (Sydney) as she’s always loved to be around animals and help them. In 2019 Maggie completed her Certificate II and Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and since September that year she’s been working at Gordon Vets where she improves her nursing skills. Maggie is a proud dog Mum of adopted senior Samoyed named Tofu. In her free time, she likes going to the gym and going on excursions with her dog and husband.
Lillian Hellman
Reception
Lillian began working at Gordon Vet in early 2021 after finishing her bachelor’s degree in animal and veterinary bioscience in 2020 with an honours degree in thoroughbred behaviour. She has always had a passion for working with animals both large and small after growing up with a variety of furry and feathered friends.
Lillian is currently the proud mum of 2 cats – Bessy and George. When not at Gordon Vet Lillian enjoys going to the beach, playing her guitar and travelling to new places.
In 2021 Lillian got accepted into Vet Science at University of Sydney. She helps out where she can in between her studies.
Olivia Webeck
Reception
Olivia started at Gordon Vet Hospital in 2014 as a volunteer and has never left! She has always had a passion for animals and grew up with a menagerie including rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, fish and her beloved dog Sophie.
Olivia graduated university in 2021 with a bachelor of animal science majoring in conservation biology and zoology. Olivia hopes to one day study veterinary medicine. In her spare time, Olivia loves catching up with friends and family, spending time at the beach and drawing.
Ashlyn Maisano
Veterinary Nurse
Ashlyn started at Gordon Vet Hospital in early 2022, and completed her Certificate IV in Vet Nursing in 2023. She found her passion for animals after growing up with dogs, chickens, guinea pigs, rabbits and more. Ashlyn lives with her cats Spritz and Cara, her cavoodle Harley and Russell the jug. In her spare time, she loves kayaking, crochet, puzzles and juggling.
Yocelyn Perdomo
Reception
Yocelyn started at Gordon Vet Hospital in February of 2024 after spending over 10 years in the health care industry. Yocelyn has a passion for all animals big and small and loves working in our busy practice. In her spare time Yocelyn likes to spend time with her family and her two cats Valentine and Luna. She also loves reading and going to the beach.
Grace Chang (中国語)
Reception
Grace started at Gordon Vet Hospital in early 2024. She loves working with all animals and hopes to provide the best experience for you and your furry one. She is a doting cat mum of one – Nala.
Grace graduated university in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in medical science and neuroscience. She has a strong passion in animals and aspires to be a vet one day. In her free time, she enjoys playing badminton, bingeing dramas and picnicking with her cat.
