Jumping on the trampoline is great fun for children and ….. dogs ……
We’ve heard about dogs swimming in the pool and digging in the sandpit, but Bella the German Shepherd took things to a whole new level. She was having a great time on the trampoline, when there was an unfortunate turn of events. Her ankle, or as we call it, her hock, somehow ended up with a trampoline spring through it. Poor Bella was hanging from the trampoline by her back leg. Her quick thinking family managed to free her, and brought her in to see us with the trampoline spring still attached.
Three year old Bella was given a general anaesthetic right away and the spring was cut with bolt cutters, then threaded out of her leg. After some wound flushing, bandaging, and medication, Bella is now walking comfortably and should heal in no time at all.
