Hey gang!! How about the crazy crazy weather?!? It was a ridiculous amount of rain we had, hey?!? Hopefully you have all started to dry out a little.
Nurse Janie is back from her amazing North American adventure and she has some pretty cool stories about her travels. I have asked her to write down a bit about her holiday and to get me some pics which I can hopefully share with you next week. Stay tuned!!
The Nurses and Vets have been to some new product launches since I checked in with you last. Dr Sam and Nurses Ange, Portia and Layne went to a launch of a new food from our good friends at Hills. Dr Helen and Nurses Portia and went to a launch of a new flea and tick collar. Apparently there was some pretty amazing food there and not one of them thought to bring me back a kitty bag. I really do work with some selfish humans!
Speaking of selfish, my former friend Dr John is back next week, so he is running out of posting time for the postcards he owes me. Hopefully he is using his time wisely to buy me a heap of presents.
This week my star is the cheeky Miss Rosey, a 6month old Fox Terrier from Killara who was brought in to see Dr David Loneragan after it was thought she ate chewing gum. What’s so bad about chewing gum, I hear you ask? Well, chewing gum contains an artificial sweetener that is potentially toxic to animals. Rosey’s humans weren’t sure how much gum, if any, she had eaten, so we had to assume it was a potentially toxic dose and Rosey was admitted to induce vomiting.
Rosey vomited up all of her breakfast, but there was no sign of chewing gum or wrappers, so it was safe to assume that Rosey didn’t eat any gum. Which was great news, although poor Rosey was made to vomit for no reason. But it’s better to vomit up nothing than to keep something in that is going to make you really sick.
