In March this year many of you may have been sad to hear that Dr John was taking a few months off. He and his wife, Sarah, decided to take a holiday of a slightly different kind and they both flew to London, England and spend almost 3 months working and travelling. While away they had a chance to escape the British Isles and explored Barcelona, Amsterdam, Paris, Copenhagen and Stockholm.
To help fund these adventures John got some work as a temporary (or locum) vet on the Isle of Wight, in the towns Scunthorpe and Peterborough as well as in London. Interestingly there were a lot of different species that people keep as pets in the UK that Dr John had to get accustomed to such as chinchillas, hamsters and even some African Pygmy Hedgehogs. There was even one clinic that serviced a zoo where he watched a breach baby armadillo being delivered!
While he enjoyed his time away, obviously none of the clinics could come close to Gordon Vet Hospital. He arrived back a couple of weeks ago and is happy to be in one place for more than a few days at a time!
