The weather is warming up, and the wildlife is coming out!

The weather is heating up and that means local wildlife are becoming more active, reptiles in particular. Please keep an eye out for snakes and lizards in sunny patches and on roads, and if you are lucky enough to see one, please admire it from afar. If you feel that there is a reptile in distress, please call Sydney Metro wildlife service on: 02 9413 4300 or WIRES: 1300 094 737.
This stunning green tree snake was bought in last week after being attacked by a cat. He had some small puncture wounds along his body, but was otherwise unharmed. Dr John snapped a quick x-ray of the snake just to be sure that there were no internal injuries. His wounds were closed up with special wound glue and after being given the all clear, Nurse Sarah released the snake back to where he was found. He promptly climbed high up into a tree and found a nice spot in the sun where it felt safe and warm.
