By Scott Lackenby | Dated May 7, 2015
Hey gang!! How are you all?? I have some SUPER exciting news! I’ve been entered in the Dermcare Clinic Cat of the Year award!!! Not much of a competition if you ask me, but I thought I should give the other clinic cats out there a chance. If you head to the Dermcare website, www.dermcare.com.au in the next day or so you can vote for me, the bestest clinic cat ever!!Speaking of competitions, have you entered our Mother’s Day comp? All you have to do is upload a pic of a Mummy with her fur-babies and you’ll go into the running to win a voucher from our good friends at Uber Photography. It’s an awesome prize, so get snapping and uploading!!
There was yet another GVH social event that I wasn’t invited to. You’ll remember me mentioning that it was Dr John’s birthday a while back? Well, what I forgot to mention was that Dr John was turning the big 3-0!! To celebrate, he had an “Ugly Sweater” themed party and everyone from GVH with the exception of me, the soon to be crowned Clinic Cat of the Year! I’m pretty sure I was left off the guest list as Dr John was worried that I would outshine him at the party. No-one would be interested in the Birthday Boy if I was there. Anyways, I have seen some pictures and it looks like everyone had a good time. There were definitely some ugly sweaters there! Nurse Nicole got my vote for best dressed!!
With all this wet weather we’ve been having, we start to see an increase in the number of gross little leeches. Poor Daisy, a 2year old Labrador, was brought in to see Dr Helen Burns when her humans noticed something burrowing into her fur. It was a yukky yukky leech! Dr Helen was able to easily remove the gross hitchhiker, she cleaned the area with some antiseptic and as there was no significant bleeding, Daisy was able to go home. There can be a lot of bleeding once you remove a leech, so if you have removed one from your pet and it continues to bleed, be sure to bring it in to see us.
Well, I had better go and work on my acceptance speech for when I win Clinic Cat of the Year. Don’t forget to head over to the Dermcare website and vote for me. And be sure to enter our Mother’s Day comp! Meows for now, love Joey xox
